The Duluth Zeniths topped the Marquette Smelters, 6-2, in Western Great Lakes Association action at Peak Performance Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Duluth pitcher Constancio Medina. The first-place Zeniths are now 59-36, the Smelters 43-52.

Luis Rivas had a big 3-run home run for the Zeniths in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Duluth leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Sabino Flores and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Zeniths on top, 6-2.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Medina.
