Bad Axe Rallies for 4-3 Win
The Bad Axe Stoplights outlasted the Bay City Sugar Beets in an extra-inning thriller.

The Bad Axe Stoplights did just enough to nip the Bay City Sugar Beets, 4-3, in 10 innings. Bad Axe pitcher Juan Reyes, in particular, had a standout performance. Bad Axe, at 49-51, sits in third place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron.

Jim Schaff found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the tenth. Facing Bay City hurler Ed Pinnance, the 20-year-old center fielder hit a sacrifice fly. His 31st RBI of the season put the Stoplights on top, 4-3.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Tomás Díaz, the Bad Axe manager.
