Biff Sheehan did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Saginaw Joes from being beaten, 7-5, to the Alpena Partridges at Birds' Nest of Alpena. Sheehan went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Javier García, who threw 145 pitches over 9 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 11 hits. The Partridges improved their record to 43-55 with the win over Saginaw.

Eric Wolf came through for Alpena when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a first pitch splitter to center field, staking his team to a 6-5 lead.
