Hopper Boys Post 5-3 Win
|
Buffalo picked up a win at Buffalo Silo, bumping off the Norwalk Maples, 5-3. Pitcher Alejandro Urbina was a major reason the Hopper Boys emerged victorious. Urbina, now 14-16, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Buffalo is third in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Erie with a record of 48-53.
In the bottom of the seventh, Buffalo second baseman Carmelo Ruiz gave his team the lead. With two out and the bases loaded, Swancy hit his 24th double of the year. Norwalk pitcher Telesforo Mata surrendered it. With that, the Hopper Boys jumped in front, 5-3.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Urbina.
