The Duluth Zeniths grabbed a win, 10-3, over the Marquette Smelters at Pig Iron Stadium. Duluth third baseman Blake Carter was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Omar Martínez picked up the win, lifting his record to 13-9 on the season. He struck out 9 and walked 4 in 8 innings, while yielding 3 runs. The first-place Zeniths go to 64-38.

With Duluth leading 6-2 in the top of the seventh, Carter batted against Marquette pitcher Cedro Troche. Carter hit a curveball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Zeniths on top, 10-2.
