Syracuse starter Manuel Martines ran into little resistance from Rochester hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 16-1. The third-place Halites bumped their record to 52-53.

The Halites took the lead, 4-0, in the bottom of the first inning. Facing Rochester hurler Jaime Mejía with two outs, Nicolás Palacios hit a 2-run single.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Martines said.
