Marquette Triumphs with Late Surge
Gonzalo Martínez, who is tied for 7th in the WGLA with a 7.1 K/9 rate, was locked in. The right-hander led the Marquette Smelters to a 4-2 win against the Grand Marais Voyageurs at Pig Iron Stadium. The Smelters now own a record of 50-55.

Marquette went up, 4-2, on Lope Reyes's 8th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Reyes hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Grand Marais pitcher Luis Zacarías shaking his head.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Reyes.
