The Buffalo Hopper Boys had to overcome a big game from Mentor first baseman Alarico Carreón to leave The Rosebush with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-5. Carreón went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Hopper Boys go to 54-54.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Simon Laroche? The Buffalo left fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Hopper Boys on top, 3-2. For the game, Laroche had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
