The Bay City Sugar Beets got a rain-soaked win over the Saginaw Joes.

The Bay City Sugar Beets faced a tough opponent in Saginaw pitcher Joël Coutant, but found a way to pull out the victory at Candysweet Park by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Coutant went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. The Sugar Beets improved their record to 49-56 with the win over Saginaw.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Bay City. That's when Rutilio Mancha hit a run-scoring double off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Duarte Sánchez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"On the outside I was calm," said Sugar Beets manager Kevin Smith. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
