The Utica Half Moons weathered an outstanding game by Syracuse designated hitter Bill Shore to topple the Halites, 7-4. Shore was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Carlos Sosa, who threw 138 pitches over 9 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 12 hits. With the win, the Half Moons have a record of 62-44.

Utica got a big at-bat from Isabela, Puerto Rico native Pedro Valero, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Half Moons ahead, 4-2.
