At Campo Capitolino, the Caracas Sultanes and Puerto La Cruz Timoneles were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Puerto La Cruz Timoneles knocked off the Caracas Sultanes, 6-3, in Liga Este action at Campo Capitolino. Puerto La Cruz pitcher and San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, native Aldomiro González had an outstanding performance. In 9 innings, González surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs.

The Timoneles benefited from an error in the top of the fifth inning. Puerto La Cruz was leading 2-0 when Telmo Carrascalo hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Puerto La Cruz in front, 4-0.

"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Timoneles manager Egidio Martínez.

The win gives Puerto La Cruz a record of 14-7.
