Orioles Suffer 5-4 Loss to Phillies
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles.
Behind the hitting of Charlie Babb, the Philadelphia Phillies stopped the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4. Babb went 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Phillies. The winner was John Truan, who threw 98 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits.
Babb had a timely hit for Philadelphia in the bottom of the sixth. With Philadelphia trailing 4-3, he turned a 3-1 curveball into a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season, making it 5-4, Philadelphia.
"I may not always remember to pack my skivvies, but I never forget to bring my bat," joked Babb.
The third-place Phillies lifted their record to 22-32.
