Arcadians Send Newport Home with 5-3 Loss
The Cardiff Arcadians topped the Newport Stevedores, 5-3, in Baseball Federation of England & Wales action at Stevedores Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cardiff pitcher Matías Rivera. The Arcadians move to 61-60 with the win, while the Stevedores drop to 41-81.

Cardiff used the clutch hitting of Martín Martínez to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Arcadians ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Martínez told the Cardiff Observer.
