Aberdeen picked up a win at Inverness Fields, bumping off the Inverness Thistles, 6-4. Pitcher Jacobo Álvarez was a major reason the Granite emerged victorious. Álvarez, now 12-16, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 6, and allowing 4 runs. The defeat makes Inverness 60-63.
Aberdeen won the game in part because of Emilio Magdaleno. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Granite ahead, 4-0. For the game, Magdaleno had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Aberdeen Observer, Álvarez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
