Perth Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Velásquez
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Claymores Stadium.

The inspired effort of Perth designated hitter Rodulfo Velásquez was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Edinburgh Claymores. Velásquez slugged 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times. Edinburgh pitcher Báquides Sánchez got the win. He's now 19-12. Jorge Flores was tagged with the loss.

Américo Guardián helped out the Edinburgh cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Edinburgh manager Amílcar Gelada.

With the win, the Claymores sit at 63-62.
