Dublin Earns 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Dublin Vikings and the Limerick Gandelows, 18-year old right-handed pitcher Graham Humphrey was the difference-maker. The Dublin right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Humphrey, now 9-17, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Vikings raised their record to 49-76.
José Pérez came through with a big-time hit for Dublin. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I thought Graham threw the ball well across the board," said Dublin manager Leo Amos.
