Gardner Propels London to 2-1 Win
Derby Stadium was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

In a low-scoring affair between London Fog and the Derby Rams, pitcher Zak Gardner was the difference-maker. The London right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 2-1 win. Ángel de Hoyos sewed up the save, his 5th.

Gardner earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for London. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Derby hitters had little success against him.

"Zak was hitting his spots," said London manager Harry Deane. "It's hard to pitch better than that."

The Fog have an impressive 89-39 record.
