Orioles Lose, 7-6, as Phillies Rally
The Philadelphia Phillies outlasted the Baltimore Orioles, 7-6, in 16 innings. Elmer Flick led the way, going 4-for-8 for Philadelphia. Philadelphia reliever Scott Stratton was the winner. His record is now 1-3. Henry Thielman took the loss. Philadelphia, at 35-45, occupies second place in the Eastern League.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 16th. With two out, Flick hit a curveball from Henry Thielman for a run-scoring single. The Phillies, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Flick told a reporter after the game.
