Velázquez Lifts Rams to Win
Derby and Birmingham duked it out and the Rams came out victorious.

The Derby Rams received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Carlos Velázquez, allowing them to shoot down the Birmingham Tradesmen, 4-1. With the win, the Rams improved to 43-86.

Velázquez, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 5-19. In 9 innings of work, Velázquez gave up 1 run on 2 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Tradesmen punchless, offensively.

"My gosh almighty, Carlos was tremendous," said Derby manager Gideon Dodd.
