Phillies Lose, 2-1, as Orioles Rally
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Union Park, knocking off the Philadelphia Phillies, 2-1. Starting pitcher Hugh Bedient was a big reason why. The save went to Christy Mathewson, number 7 for him. The win makes Baltimore 54-33.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Tommy Griffith came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Danny Maxwell, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Baltimore on top, 2-1.

"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Bedient.
