Smelters Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
The Marquette Smelters racked up a win at Pig Iron Stadium, bumping off the Grand Marais Voyageurs, 3-2, in 10 innings. Luis García, who started for Marquette, pitched effectively for his team. Absalón Músquez, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-4. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The first-place Smelters, at 73-38, now lead their division by 15 games.

The Smelters relied on third baseman Fernando Sandoval for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

In postgame remarks, Sandoval simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
