Zeniths Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
In a low-scoring game between the Duluth Zeniths and the Superior Whalebacks, pitcher Omar Martínez was masterful on the mound. The Duluth left-hander spearheaded his team's 1-0 win. With the victory, the Zeniths record stands at 59-53.

The Whalebacks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Zeniths going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Curcio Torres came to the plate. Torres hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 curveball from Superior hurler Jared Cooper. It was Torres's 19th double of the year.

"Tip of the cap to the Zeniths," said Superior manager Devin Durrett. "They played a good game."
