The Bad Axe Stoplights overcame a good performance by Mackinac Island first baseman Chris Gridley to knock off Mackinac Island, 6-5, at The Traffic Jam. Gridley went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. At 55-62, the Stoplights are currently second in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron.

Julio Martín was the walk-off hero for Bad Axe. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Stoplights left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Martín attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."
