Wanderers Top Brats to Even Record
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Roaring Dan Seavey Stadium.
Escanaba starter Ron Barker pitched well against the Sheboygan Brats at Roaring Dan Seavey Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-2. Barker, now 17-10, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
Juan Centeno had a big solo home run for the Wanderers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Escanaba leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 36-year old right-handed pitcher George Davies and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Wanderers on top, 2-0.
"Solid performance from our side," said Wanderers manager Steven Hopper.
Escanaba is now 59-59, Sheboygan 73-43.
