Rochester second baseman J. Matas had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Oswego Hydropathists, 9-8. Rochester reliever Miqueas Guerrero picked up the win to move to 7-16. Ciriaco Méndez suffered the loss. The Lilac Stockings, at 41-78, sit in last place in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Ontario.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Matas hit a curveball from Ciriaco Méndez for a solo home run. The Lilac Stockings, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Good to pick up this win," Matas said.
