Partridges Earn 6-4 Win Versus Bad Axe
|
Bad Axe first baseman Diego Valenzuela had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Alpena at The Traffic Jam. Valenzuela was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Emmett Bowman. His record now stands at 6-0. The right-hander went 9 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits for the Partridges. The Partridges sit in 4th place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron with a record of 55-65.
Alpena used a clutch at-bat from Christopher Dyerson to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Partridges ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Dyerson told the Alpena Chronicle.
