Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Salt City Park.

Sotero Gurrola batted in 4 runs to lead Utica to an extra-inning win over Syracuse. The final score was 11-9. Gurrola chipped in 1 single and 1 home run. Teófilo Aguilar was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Gurrola delivered big-time for Utica, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off John Barnett. The game-changing hit put the Half Moons on top, 10-8.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Gurrola. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."

The 4th-place Half Moons now have a record of 54-68.
