Sugar Beets Handed 3-2 Loss by Mackinac Island
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers and Bay City Sugar Beets were able to complete their ballgame.
Starting pitcher Ramón Durán gave the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Bay City Sugar Beets, 3-2, at Bouncy House. The winning pitcher was Durán, now 16-12. He tossed 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5.
Pío González helped out the Mackinac Island cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-2.
"For the most part, I felt like I did a pretty good job with executing the pitches I was throwing," said Durán.
Mackinac Island sits in second place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron at 66-57.
