Sugar Beets Win 9-8 Nail-Biter Versus Stone Skippers
The Bay City Sugar Beets did just enough to nip the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers, 9-8, in 15 innings. Bay City catcher Micah Willetts, in particular, had a standout performance. Bay City reliever Douggie Coleman picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Adam Browning took the loss. Their 57-64 record puts the Sugar Beets third in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 15th. With no one out, Willetts hit a fastball from Adam Browning for a solo home run. The Sugar Beets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Big win," said Willetts.
