The Mackinac Island Stone Skippers beat the Bad Axe Stoplights, 9-3. Mackinac Island pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Ramón Durán led the way. With the victory, the Stone Skippers upped their record to 67-57.

Pete Hill had a big bases-clearing double for the Stone Skippers in the top of the fourth inning. With Mackinac Island leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Beany Jacobson and swatted a double to left. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stone Skippers ahead, 6-0.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Hill.
