The Sheboygan Brats got a superb performance from pitcher Cy Falkenberg. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Escanaba. The Wanderers won the game, 2-1. Falkenberg threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Picking up the win was Ron Barker. He went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 0 and walked 1. Escanaba is now 64-66, while Sheboygan is 82-45.
Uriel Álvarez had a direct impact on the outcome. Álvarez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Escanaba up, 2-1.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Sheboygan manager Jerry Barger.
