Gary and Holland put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Gary Blast Furnaces defeated the Holland Tulips, 7-4, in 10 innings in Western Great Lakes Association action at Sunlit Garden. Gary pitcher Nicolás Casas had a standout performance. Casas got the win, improving to 11-15. He gave up 8 hits and walked 3 over 10 innings. He allowed 4 runs.

Gary used a timely hit from James McArthur to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blast Furnaces ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said McArthur. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."

Gary is now 68-62, while Holland is 58-72.
