Parkinson Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Sabana Grande
Gael Parkinson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Hormigueros Companeros from being beaten, 7-6, to the Sabana Grande Tramantes at Parquecito de Sabana Grande. Parkinson went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was 19-year old left-handed pitcher Diodoro González. He tossed 153 pitches over 8.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 12 hits. Lope Silva earned the save, his 2nd, for the Tramantes.

Bernal Castillo was a prime factor in the win for the Tramantes. In the bottom of the sixth with one out, the 22-year old catcher hit a run-scoring single. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks.

"They played a better game than we did," said Hormigueros skipper Pascual Álvarez.

The setback makes Hormigueros 18-42.
