The Corozal Maduritos earned a close win over the Morovis Excepciones, thanks in part to Gabriel Ruiz. The Corozal right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. With the win, the Maduritos improved to 28-30.

Tarasio Ruiz was the walk-off hero for Corozal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Maduritos designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Ruiz told the Corozal Citizen.
