Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Cabo Rojo Maravillosos and Yauco Napoleonicos.

The Cabo Rojo Maravillosos overcame a pretty good performance by Yauco third baseman Sean Scott, beating the Napoleonicos, 9-7, at El Marenguito. Scott was 4 for 7 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With the win over Yauco, the Maravillosos improved to 35-25.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Rafael Pérez came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Yauco pitcher Luis Otero, he hit a 0-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cabo Rojo on top, 8-7.

"Nice win for us," said Pérez. "Now we'll go after the next one."
