The skies opened up and the rain fell at Parquecito de Juncos.

In a low-scoring contest between the Juncos Chiringas and the Gurabo Escaleras, 16-year old right-handed pitcher Políbio Muraro proved to be the difference. The Juncos right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Chiringas win. Muraro, now 4-8, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Chiringas had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when center fielder Alfonso Santana hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Aristodemo Terán and made the score 2-1, Chiringas. Santana was 1 for 3 with a walk.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Muraro told the Juncos Daily News. "Whatever it takes."

The Chiringas improved to 26-35.
