Maduritos Earn Clutch Win, 3-2

The Corozal Maduritos extended their winning streak.
The Corozal Maduritos topped the Adjuntas Beatos, 3-2, in Liga José Padilla action at Parquecito de Corozal. The standout performance belonged to Corozal pitcher and Colonia Valdense, Uruguay, native Felipe Vásquez. The winner was Corozal reliever Tarasio Sais, now 6-2. The loser was Tomás Sena.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 16th, 22-year old second baseman Lester Long had a chance to be the hero. Adjuntas pitcher Zacarías Martínez wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Long drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Maduritos had themselves a thrilling win.
"Fans understand the heart of this club is really, really strong, beating all the time," said Maduritos manager Aidan McKenzie.
Corozal currently is in third place in the Liga José Padilla División Eugenio Ortiz at 39-23.
