Maquinistas Earn 1-0 Win Versus Alfereces
In a low-scoring affair between the Rincon Maquinistas and the Mayaguez Alfereces, pitcher Oscar Hidalgo was the difference between victory and defeat. The Rincon right-hander earned kudos in the 1-0 Maquinistas win. Rincon is now 34-31, Mayaguez 26-37.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old first baseman Jacob Beaton had a chance to be the hero. Mayaguez pitcher Polifemo Ravé had other ideas. But with no outs, Beaton hit a sacrifice fly. The Maquinistas had themselves a dramatic win.

"Oscar is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Rincon manager José Romero.
