Multi-HR Game for Kondo in 6-1 Win
|
Seiji Kondo, who is tied for 4th in the LJP in home runs with 8, knocked in all 6 runs for the Canovanas Criptidos, helping them beat the Ceiba Comesopas, 6-1. Esquilo Cordova, the winning pitcher, is now 7-2. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 9 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2. The Criptidos improved their record to 39-24 with the win over Ceiba.
Kondo contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Canovanas in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Kondo took a fastball from Judá Muñoz and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Criptidos to leap in front, 4-1.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Kondo told the Canovanas Daily.
