Tritones Win, 5-3, at Mayaguez
|
The Hatillo Tritones topped the Mayaguez Alfereces, 5-3, in Liga Mariana Bracetti action at Parquecito de Mayagüez. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hatillo pitcher Miguel Jiménez. Jiménez, now 5-5, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The Tritones, at 32-32, sit in 8th place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
With two out in the top of the eighth, Ismael Galicia had a game-changing hit. The Tritones center fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Mark Bell, making the score 5-3, Hatillo.
"We'll pocket this win," said Galicia, "and then go after another."
