José Covarrubias had a good game, but he could not keep the Bayamon Herradones from falling, 9-8, to the Vega Baja Dulzones at Parquecito de Bayamón. The Bayamon shortstop was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 in the loss. The winner was Vega Baja reliever Cristóbal Valencia, now 5-0. The loser was Medardo Salas. The 'W' lifts Vega Baja's record to 38-29.
Emeterio Guzmán had a big at-bat in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Vega Baja third baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Dulzones would go on to win the ballgame.
