The San Juan Ciudadanos got a rain-soaked win over the Manati Hoplitas.
The San Juan Ciudadanos eked out a 2-1 win versus the Manati Hoplitas at Parquecito de Manatí. Nobody did more than pitcher Izaac Konecny. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Konecny, now 1-2. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 7 and fanning 2. Eddie Ledoux was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
The Ciudadanos got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jesús Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave San Juan a 2-0 lead.
Rodríguez told a San Juan Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Ciudadanos improved their record to 38-31 with the win over Manati.
