Loiza Pleneros starter Mickael Guignard was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the Juncos Chiringas, 4-0, in 12 innings. Loiza is now 31-38.

The decisive blow was delivered by Lionel Parisot in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a grand slam home run off 16-year old right-handed pitcher Políbio Muraro to win the game for Loiza. The home crowd went nuts.

"This game will make a man of you," said Owen Jones, the Loiza skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
