The rain came, as predicted, but the Coamo Perritos de Pradera and Yabucoa Pastelillos were able to complete their ballgame.
The Yabucoa Pastelillos got a superb performance from pitcher Darío Padrón, but the Coamo Perritos de Pradera still won the game, 5-4. Padrón threw 8.1 innings allowing 5 runs. Cronan Brooks earned the save, his 8th.
Coamo used a clutch at-bat from Atanasio Mbasogo to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Perritos de Pradera ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Mbasogo.
The Perritos de Pradera improved their record to 49-21 by beating Yabucoa.
