Luis Pertuz pitched a dandy of a game to help the Canovanas Criptidos beat the Culebra Careyes, 8-1. Pertuz got the win, improving to 13-3. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The second-place Criptidos have won 6 straight games.

The Careyes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Criptidos going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old left fielder Miguel Medina came to the plate. Medina hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Culebra hurler Hichem Morel. It was Medina's 3rd home run of the year.

"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Pertuz.
