The Cidra Sabaneros defeated the Adjuntas Beatos, 6-5, at Parquecito de Cidra. Cidra first baseman Nicanor Hernández had a superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Sabaneros now have a mark of 27-44.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Cidra trailing 5-2, Hernández jumped on a cutter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Zacarías Martínez and hit a grand slam home run to right. With one swing, the Sabaneros had a walk-off win.
"We all want to win," said Hernández. "We all want to do our part."
