Guayanilla center fielder Calixto Mangual had a good game, even if his team did not. The Tormentas dropped a 7-5 decision to Ponce at Parquecito de Guayanilla. Mangual went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gael Morley picked up the win, lifting his record to 9-9 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 7 in 8.1 innings, while yielding 5 runs. Julián Martín picked up the save, his 1st.

In the top of the eighth, 22-year old third baseman Diego Merlin hit a run-scoring single to right. The single, which was hit off of Reece Heath, gave Ponce a 6-4 lead.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Merlin told the Ponce Daily. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."

Ponce is now 36-38.
