Alfereces Suffer 2-1 Setback
|
In a low-scoring contest, San Sebastian pitcher Adalberto del Campo was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. del Campo, now 5-7, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. San Sebastian has a record of 30-45, placing them last in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Haley Hayes came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Mayaguez pitcher Mickael Lefeuvre, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Sebastian on top, 2-1.
"Adalberto had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said San Sebastian manager Rigoberto Ruvalcaba.
