The rain did not keep Barranquitas and Orocovis from finishing their game.
The Barranquitas Insignes locked up a win at Parquecito de Orocovis, knocking off the Orocovis Behiques, 5-3. On the mound for Barranquitas was left-hander Ovidio Mandoza. He played a major role in the triumph. Mandoza, the winner, moves to 5-6. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk.
Barranquitas won the game in part because of Delfín Herrera. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Insignes ahead, 2-0. For the game, Herrera had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Herrera said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
