Punchless Pastelillos Fall, 10-0, to Las Piedras
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Las Piedras Peritos and Yabucoa Pastelillos came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Las Piedras Peritos beat the Yabucoa Pastelillos, 10-0. Las Piedras pitcher and Ushuaia, Argentina, native Séptimo Sánchez led the way. Sánchez, now 8-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no runs.
Benoît Latour had a big run-scoring double for the Peritos in the bottom of the second inning. With Las Piedras leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Atilio Segovia and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Peritos ahead, 2-0.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Josh Pruitt, the Yabucoa manager.
At 42-37, the Peritos are currently 7th in the Liga José Padilla División Carmen Bozello y Guzmán.
